Tuesday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
Ok, we have a current diary schedule. If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

Well,
here we are again,
another bigjac Tuesday.
Tonia asked me to tell you
about the difference she has noticed
between most of the black American children
that she has observed,
and many white children,
raised by low income
single white moms.
Tonia says
it seems that the black children
are always well behaved, never out of control,
never defiant,
never having fits.
She points out the example
of her nephew,
Terrell III,
who was living in our home,
with his father,
Tonia's brother,
Terrell II,
for about the past month.
He's very polite,
always knocking on our door,
not just barging in,
for example.
Tonia says he was always well behaved,
even when he was little.
Compare him to the two children
of our roommate,
Ashley,
who is 21 years old,
white,
and has two children,
Bella,
a pretty brunette,
who is three,
and Ian,
an even prettier blonde,
who is two.
Bella likes to meddle in things
when no one is watching.
For example,
when I squeezed into the back seat
of her mother's car,
and buckled in,
she quickly reached down beside her,
and pushed the button,
and unbuckled me.
When I buckled up again,
and used my elbow
to block her hand
from doing it again,
she had a fit.
Ian is more openly defiant;
you can put him in a chair,
and insist he stay put,
and he'll squirm down,
and the whole thing
becomes a lot of yelling,
and a lot of screaming,
a lot of defiance.
What do you think?
Do you think our examples are unusual?
I think black American parents
dread the scorn they might get
from white folks,
or,
worse yet,
the scorn they might get
from other black parents,
if their kids act defiant,
have a fit.
What do you think?
Hope you're doing well,
but even if not,
tell us about it.
We're here to listen.
Wed Aug 14, 2013 at 2:13 AM PT: Hey gang!
Tonia said she thought about it,
and she has seen some black kids
that's hell on wheels.
All kids can be bad.
It's the person raising them.
But it would be good
if each child would be raised well,
from very young,
obviously.
Another example
of their behavior:
Tonia told Bella and Ian
to sit still in their chairs.
Ian put his foot on Bella's chair,
and pushed it,
and Bella screamed,
and that continued,
for fifteen solid minutes.
