Of course we know the only thing the Fundaloons think about is sex, how, when and with what parts or toys. But for CNN to let a guest use hate speech against another guest without repercussions is beyond the pale.
In the clip below a Fundaloon named Randy Thomasson does just that.
SPLC lists Thomasson's group a hate group:
Hate group listing
In March 2012, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) added SaveCalifornia.com to its list of anti-gay hate groups.[5] According to SPLC director Heidi Beirich, “In order to make the list as an anti-gay group, the group has to lie, defame or spread false propaganda about the LGBT community...In this case, language that depicts LGBT people as predatory, attempting to convert children and as having unhealthy lifestyles—all of those things—are what got him on the list.” Beirich also stated that such language about an entire group “increases the likelihood of hate crimes being directed at that group.”[19]
Would CNN be just as blasé if the N- word was used after inviting the Klan to discuss stop and frisk? I doubt it.
Yesterday our Executive Director, Masen Davis smiled through these hallmarks of bigotry on a national, live CNN broadcast. Amidst a resounding victory for California’s transgender youth – the passing of the School Success and Opportunity Act, AB 1266 – our Executive Director, Masen Davis was spitefully called a lady by the opposing side.
CNN should apoligise but I doubt they even see what they did wrong in first allowing the leader of a hate group on the air. And secondly for letting him misgender anyone on the air.
