The Vice President's 44 year old son, Beau Biden, who is the attorney general of Delaware and served a tour in Iraq, is currently hospitalized at an undisclosed location in Houston, TX after becoming "weak and disoriented" during a family vacation last week. He initially experienced the symptoms during a drive to Indiana, and was admitted to Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago. He then returned to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia to consult with his personal physician, and has now gone to Houston with his father, Vice President Biden, to be further evaluated.

I very much hope my speculation is wrong, but given the fact that both Northwestern University Hospital and Jefferson University Hospital are top, nationally ranked hospitals, there would seem to be limited reasons to travel from Chicago to Philadelphia, and then to Houston, TX, to get advice on diagnosis and treatment of his condition. The one that comes immediately to mind is that Houston is the home of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, which is perhaps the top cancer center in the world.
Vice President Biden has suffered far more personal and family medical problems than it seems fair for any human being to have suffered. His first wife and infant daughter were killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer, in which both of his sons were seriously injured. And then he suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, and then a pulmonary embolism while he was recuperating for the subarachnoid hemorrhage.
If you believe in prayer, please pray for the Biden family. If you don't believe in prayer, please direct good thoughts in their direction. They surely could use them.
