Wednesday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
Ok, we have a (mostly) finished diary schedule. If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
We all need food to survive right? Well, the tastier the food the better in my opinion. So, today I am going to torment your taste buds.
Corned beef hash, scrambled eggs, and whole wheat toast.
I'm probably the only one in the house that eats corned beef hash, and I love it. I miss my mom's homemade after we've had a jigger's dinner - though I do tend to get her to make mine without the cabbage and rutabaga in it.
Strawberry cake with chocolate fudge frosting, and a fresh strawberry.
It was from a box, but it was the damned tastiest strawberry cake I'd ever made, and the addition of the fresh strawberry on top was perfect!
Made from scratch yellow cake.
This was my first attempt at making a cake from scratch, and it turned out very, very good. I even made homemade frosting to go on it. Though, my color balance was off and the frosting ultimately looked battleship grey instead of the purple that I wanted.
Homemade bread. Bread machines are fantastic things!
I forget which one this was, but it was epically fantastic, and I think we had it with homemade chicken noodle soup.
Homemade fried rice, this version is chicken. No egg though. Still extremely tasty!
OMG! This is awesome. Brown your rice in butter, when you add the liquid (keeping to the 2:1 liquid:rice ratio, substitute 1/2 a cup of the liquid for your favorite soy sauce). Add veggies and your choice of meat (chicken or beef is what we usually use).
Homemade pulled pork sandwiches and waffle fries.
This was a honey hickory bbq sauce (Kraft brand I think) and the left over of a pork shoulder roast that came out fantastic after a couple of hours in the crock pot.
Double burger w/o bun and Parmesan noodle side.
Occasionally I do naked burgers, when I've been somewhat bad throughout the day I'll cut my carbs around dinner and go bun-less if we are having burgers. Just usually do the cheese on the burger and occasionally I'll dip in BBQ sauce if I'm feeling spunky.
