True the man was obviously distressed. And it isn't in the best of neighborhoods, I know I've lived there. But the inhumane treatment of this man is absolutely appalling and pointless.
It is not the police's job to punish.
And it looks like they felt entitled to do just that.
Already the newsie in the video has determined it is against department policy to tase someone if a fall is a risk.
And due to the need for oxygen and blood flow to the brain choke holds are also not standard training.
But dropping his head down each step as if he was a sack of fecal matter just shows the contempt the police hold for the general public.
Holding them accountable will be other officers in the same force that will look at the evidence and decide whether the people they depend on for back up were committing a criminal act.
