According to the Associated Press, a gun went off in the backpack of a kindergartner in a school cafeteria in Westside Elementary School in Tennessee. The children were in the cafeteria before school started for the day.
Investigators determined the child obtained the gun from a closet at home and placed it in the backpack, police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said Friday. The information was presented to the district attorney general's office, which decided not to file charges at this time, she said.

Huh?????
Let me get this straight. The parent(s) of a kindergarten age child (who I suspect was about five years old) left a loaded firearm in a place where the child was able to access it and remove it from the home and no charges were brought against the parent(s).
Fortunately, no one was hurt, but that was just luck. The gun could have easily injured the child who brought it to school, or any of the other children in the cafeteria.
I know that there are different interpretations of the meaning of the 2nd Amendment, but can't we all agree that parents who leave a loaded gun where it can be taken by a kindergarten aged child to school should be charged, and should lose all of their "rights" to own a firearm.
The next time their child might not be so lucky.
