It seems many so-called liberals are against humanitarian intervention in Syria in the aftermath of Syria's latest war crimes, so I thought I'd take these so-called liberals on a walk down memory lane and remind them why it's so important not to let Syria take another dump on international law with impunity.
Here are pictures from Syria's recent history:
A Syrian diplomat congratulates Saddam Hussein for using chemical weapons.
Syria uses sensory-deprivation tactics against people awaiting a fair trial.
Dog torture -- a Syrian innovation.
More horrors of the Syrian torture program.
Now, some so-called liberals are even giving credence to the wild ramblings of Vladimir Putin, as if Putin and Russia have any credibility when it comes to global politics. To drill home the difference in credibility between America and Russia, I've put together the following image for these walk-away liberals-in-name-only:
USA vs. Russia -- a sharp contrast in credibility.
I'll leave you bungholes with the words of John Kerry:
As previous storms in history have gathered, when unspeakable crimes were within our power to stop them, we have been warned against the temptations of looking the other way. History is full of leaders who have warned against inaction, indifference and especially against silence when it mattered most.
[...]
This crime against conscience, this crime against humanity, this crime against the most fundamental principles of international community, against the norm of the international community, this matters to us.
And it matters to who we are. And it matters to leadership and to our credibility in the world.
My friends, it matters here if nothing is done. It matters if the world speaks out in condemnation and then nothing happens.
