Well, we finally have a location.. and we have some serious news to go with it.   Since announcing we intended to have a Kos meetup here in KC, we've had a lot of contact from people who are on Kos and not, as well as people wanting to bring friends.   Recently, I've had a chance to talk to a few of the Democratic campaigns here in Kansas and on the Missouri side of the state line, and we are looking at some nice attendees.. as a result, we now have a venue and information.

We will officially be meeting at the Overland Park Marriott, occupying a ballroom.   This should be EASY for anyone to find, as the Marriott is providing signage to mark which ballroom we will be in.

Event is November 16, Saturday

10800 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210

We have the ballroom booked from 7PM-11PM, rooms are available in the hotel if you travel from a greater distance.

We are working on attendees from:

The Davis Campaign
The Wakefield Campaign
Emmanuel Clever's Office

And we have non-Kos attendees from Planned Parenthood, and other organizations.

What started out as a pretty small meet has turned into an event with a lot of people who have contacted me, asked if they can be involved.

There will be a short presentation (yes, a powerpoint) at the beginning, Marriott is going to cater food, including a Vegan/Vegetarian option.

Please note: for right now I'm "out of pocket" on this, so contributions to the kitty will be appreciated by not required.

So, if you haven't decided you want to attend, let me tell you: you want to attend.  If you have friends who are on Kos or not who are thinking they want to come, come.   This will be a good chance to personally meet some of the staff and potential candidates as well as a way to interface with others in your community who will be active in races around the metro.

We look forward to seeing you there!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
