Yep, it's still funny.
Oh noes, conservative bigwig and noted
libido talker-abouter Mike Huckabee has been chastised for his remarks on Democrats, Uncle Sugar, and
libidos by official Republican manchild Reince Priebus.
However will he go on?
[Priebus] told the crowd at the RNC's winter meeting that Republicans must be "very conscious of the tone and choice of words" in communicating GOP policies.
"The Daily Rundown" host Chuck Todd asked the RNC chairman to clarify if those statements rebuked Huckabee.
"Sure. Yes, I was," Priebus said. "And the reason is that, you know, you have to accept the political world we live in, in the sense that you cannot offer up words like libido -- wherever that came from -- you don't offer up these sorts of, you know, lobs and set up passes and serves that allow the Democrats to spike the ball."
Huckabee may be a movement bigwig, in the sense that he has a radio show now and all conservatives who are
anybody have their own radio shows, but it's a little sad that even he has to be reminded that maybe talking about womenfolk and their
libido in front of the television cameras is not going to work out for you. It's sadder still when
Reince Freaking Priebus has to tell you this.
Less clear, however, is where Reince stands on talking about "Uncle Sugar." We should probably ask him. We should probably ask him many, many times, in fact, and perhaps the party ought to have a whole session at their next how to talk to women event on the words libido and Uncle Sugar, so as to really explore this whole genre of conservative thought.
As long as we can televise it, of course.
