..and leave off picking on
women and
children, unless that's all you can handle - that is.
If going to war against women and children is as risky a challenge you can handle, then keep on pretending that gun makes a man of you, and keep losing your "freedomz", your liberty and eventually your right to vote out the GOP corporate/Wallstreet shills and any hope of "shrinking" the GOP big government you say you hate so much.
Yeah it's true. the "big evil government", the hated one, lacking "free market" principles and "conservative" values, it's the Grand Old Party. The party you vote for - that makes laws to hide their theft - republican party
The hiding behind opposite speak like "waste fraud and abuse" or "burdensome regulation" blah, blah, blah, as if those "intrusive Big govt." regulations are merely invitations to "frivolous law suits". Or the ridiculous claim that it's all a "socialist plot" schemed up to control you, the public, when the exact opposite is true.
Regulations were developed after people were hurt, ripped off, or killed and are made to protect people and the environment from known and real life dangers when the motive for profit takes precedence, outweighing safety to society - iow's the "conservative" party of "greed is good" at any cost, that you pay for
So now you're squealing against "lawlessness" ? - throwing out accusations cooked up by the same "conservative" think tanks.
Read up on it. Prove it your claims. Or STFU.
There is story after story of "conservatives" covering for industries from the financial sector to big Pharma to the private for profit charter school and testing industry that rip people off, evade taxes, and poison our land.
One glaring example is republican candidate for Texas governor, attorney general and Koch shill, Greg Abbot. 15 people were killed, a small town leveled in a chemical explosion which was next door to a grade school and other vulnerable public structures.
The republican response? forbid the disclosure of dangerous chemical storage facilities. Hide the facts from the people. (Rachel Maddow video)
All that has already been said, documented, proven over and over for at least a half a century. And if you've fallen for the "burdensome regulations" as a "socialist plot" or fear laws against corporate malfeasance and other forms of corruption and still believe that these laws are targeting you, the individual, then GTF up out of your Barcalounger and look it up - Not on FOX, Drudge or Limbaugh or the Daily Caller. etc. That spun up crap from the "conservative" entertainment news wing makes you stupid. It's been studied. Check out any BP 'greenwashing' TV commercials - massive distraction advertising. The core of the right wing party and what holds it together instead of truth and facts to back up a solid platform is smoke and mirrors to cover a simple minded goal - serve those that extract & siphon off wealth from wherever and whoever including you the worker and your public lands, while you pay for them to steal that land and pay more in taxes that they evade
Do you feel like you have enough leisure time? The republican party sure thinks so. You've got it easy.
Or does that piss you off hearing that? Here are some real facts with charts on that.
If on the other hand you want an economic system where you choose your own working hours, how much you get paid, and how much time off you want, then do something about it. Stop voting for a party that considers your labor a liability to be reduced in size instead of the asset that it is. Find out who the real thugs are.
Hint: it isn't unions. You can thank collective bargaining through the hard work of unions and members for getting weekends off and the size of the paycheck you get today and a whole lot more you'll soon notice is missing if you keep getting suckered into voting for republicans corpo shills who themselves are too greedy, incompetent, stupid or all of the above to do the job of authoring the legislation your vote hired them to do
So stop being a bunch of gun toting pussies (sorry for that, but I'm talking to teabags & other "tough guys" here) and man up.
Here is another choice. How about negative unemployment as the goal, as the established norm? Where no one who needs work is out of work. Companies must compete for our labor at the price that we choose. Where labor is considered an asset again. Where the actual amount of work that needs doing matches how many people who are fit to work? A negative unemployment number.
Say -5% unemployment and make that a constant.
Think about how may tasks around the house need doing and multiply that times the entire USA . Infrastructure work, Re-tooling the country towards renewable energy for a clean environment and millions of jobs over time. There is no lack of work, there is a coordinated goal by the financial side of the economy - the "supply side" capital end that seeks to reduce the cost of labor done by the people who actually do the work and get things done
It can be done
How about resurrecting a civilian conservation corps and a permanent WPA. This policy approach would take back control from the venture capitalists/Wall Street and titans of industry and put it back with workers. These supply siders seek a system based on maintaining a "margin" of labor force to be permanently jobless. Which is one of the main reasons the republican shills fight EUC (emergency unemployment extensions). Republican/"conservative" policies are designed to guarantee an "excess" labor pool that keeps you the worker competing for the lowest wage instead of the corporate employers offering the highest wage in competition for your labor.
It's math. And at this link is the author using the republican's own fiscal reasoning against them proving it
With a CCC and a permanent WPA we could aim for a negative unemployment number as the normal - say a negative 5% unemployment and turn the tables in favor of all workers. Make the Oligarchs compete for our labor and not the other way around.
That would set the value of labor where it should be - imo - almost a guarantee that every workers labor is valued and paid what is fair.
Both the CCC and the re-tooled WPA would function like a governor on a small engine functions or the cruise control on a vehicle: added throttle/investment when the load is heavier/joblessness increases or the climb is steeper, and then easing off the throttle/investment when the load is lightened and the uphill climb levels off.
You want sovereignty? How about bypassing the 1%ers and going for system where the worker is in control.
Now that would be revolutionary change. No excess labor pool for the titans of industry to pit worker against worker competing in a race to the bottom wage war. Have corporations compete for our labor for a change
So you say you want to "take your country back"? How back going after the real thieves of the American dream, and if you can't stand Dems and refuse to vote for those "others", then form your own party. Either way, stop voting for a party of corpo shills or stay home and we Dems will take and fix things from there as we've done after every disaster of a republican Presidency and/or majority in congress
Also too; below the fold is L. Randall Wray who blows holes in nearly every ""conservative" theory/talking point with his lecture on Modern Money: the way sovereign currency works
A comment with links that led me to this video by L. Randall Wray:
Thanks for stopping by for another half way figured out half way rant :)
P.S. this took longer than I thought. so got some sanding to finish up I'm late getting to, so back in a bit
