The Alliance for Justice
is the resource for information on all things justice, but particularly the federal judiciary. Now they've created a dashboard for "comprehensive, up-to-date information on all federal judicial vacancies in one graphic display."
The image above is a screenshot of the interactive map. Note particularly the legend in the bottom right, which tells you how long the some of these seats have been vacant—all of them more than 180 days, some of them more than 720 days—two years.
At the AFJ website you can use the interactive map to find out about the vacancies in your state, including "current and future vacancies; pending nominees; vacancies without nominees; how long each seat has been vacant; judicial emergencies; and the party affiliation of senators in states with judicial vacancies."
And of course Texas is the poster child for judicial dysfunction, largely because of the refusal of its two Republican senators, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, who have been aiding and abetting the foot-dragging of nominees at every step. There are seven seats that have been vacant for two years or longer, six of them more 1,000 days.
All in a day's work for Republican, making sure every branch of government is as broken as possible.
