Congress is debating whether it is ok to allow abortions after 20 Weeks. At the same time in the streets across America the police are responding to calls that involve mentally ill people. In both cases life is lost, I am against both. The abortions that occur at this late time are around 1 percent of all abortions and the main point of argument is the rape/incest clause that makes women seek counseling of mental health. In the case of police shooting and killing knowingly mentally distressed citizens it happens too often.
The comparison is simple, both are helpless and both end up dead. It seems that everyone wants to separate their favorite issues and compartmentalize their feelings depending upon Political needs. Its time we step back and treat all human life the same and do our best to be better. No violent deaths for humans whether a fetus in a mothers womb or a mentally distressed 19 year old in Madison Wisconsin.

Out of the 113 responses to this diary not one of them referred to the Plight of the Mentally distressed Humans that walk amongst us who are in fact killed on a regular basis at the hands of the police. Showing concern about womens reproductive rights on one hand and totally ignoring the rights of mentally ill people to be treated humanely Is Ignorant at best.
