Not so long ago, our friend gchaucer2 experienced one of those soul crushing “dark nights” where all hope seemed lost, every horrible circumstance was crashing in on her, and she felt utterly alone and without any way out. She published a diary that was a real cri de coeur and this community immediately came to her rescue with resources, warm hearts and many shoulders to lean on.
Now we are making her a quilt, filled with loving words of support and friendship so gchaucer2 will never, ever forget that she is not alone and that her friends are all around. She can rest under your loving words and breathe easily.
How this works is that you give a short message in the comments below (something I can transcribe on a 4.5” square patch of muslin). I will use archival ink to put it onto a patch and heat set it with an iron for permanence. Then my sister and I will sew it in a colorful quilt for gchaucer2, something that will chase the blues away for now and ever. It will be a unique work of art, just for her, and you will be a part of it!
My sister and I make these quilts as a living. If you would like to donate toward the labor and materials for gchaucer’s quilt, here is a PayPal link — or message me for an address if you prefer a check. $20/message is suggested. That being said, please don’t feel you can’t leave a message if you can’t donate. We need your message! Trust me, it will have immeasurable value for her.
If you decide to leave a quilt message in PayPal, please Kos mail me as well to let me know. The way PayPal is now configured, it is easy to miss attached notes. But the best way to leave a message is in the comments below. I will {{{{hug}}}} you in response to your comment to let you know that I have collected your message. Or send your message by Kos Mail!
Click here for a list of our completed quilts. It is a long list!

Here is what is going on in our quilt workshop… The star portion of the Emanuel AME Church quilt is completely pieced now and we are waiting for the arrival of the background fabric (we went with ivory). So it won’t be long before the top is complete and I can begin to quilt it by hand. We have also received enough messages for Jen Haden’s quilt — last call for Jen Hayden, not too late to add a message if you Kos Mail me! There will be another diary for Denise Oliver Velez’s tribute quilt (no worries, she’s okay!). So look for that diary in coming weeks.
