Since I was twelve years old, Hillary Clinton has been my hero. There wasn’t a question that can stump her, a job she couldn’t do, or a problem she didn’t have a solution for. That’s not to say she’s perfect. We have had our disagreements, Hillary and I. Even a seven, I knew Iraq was a bad idea and it would have been nice had she come out in support of gay rights earlier. Heck, I haven’t even been thrilled with Campaign strategy this time around. But her resilience in the face of attacks, her refusal to stop fighting for healthcare coverage, her dry wit, and her fiery spirit have inspired me more than I could say.
I wish I could say more but I don’t know if I could really put my feelings into my first political love words. After a year marked with depression, Hillary gave me a reason to hope again. Watching her speak about the importance of Gay Rights helped me accept my own sexuality and her way she has spoken about mental health issues throughout her campaign has been wonderful (she is the only candidate not to blame the mentally ill for gun violence) .She inspires me to keep going because even after everything she still has. Thank you Hillary.
