Just a very brief diary that I found interesting. You can see the whole story here.
It is interesting to me that on the one hand, obviously based on stands/positions, Ms. Clinton has sewn up the GLBTQ vote, but on the other hand, of course, Chambers of Commerce usually swing to the GOP.
In fact, in the 15 years of being an association this is a group that had not previously endorsed a presidential candidate.
Chance Mitchell, the organization’s co-founder and chief executive, said the community had “come too far to lose our seat at the table” and called Clinton “the progressive champion our businesses and our families need to thrive.”
So this was not a for-sure endorsement for the Clinton team. Soon to be President Clinton replied herself to the support by stating
that she was proud to stand with the organization that endorsed her
Ms. Clinton also brought up Herr Donald’s support of North Carolina’s innane bathroom law as one way in which he would hurt businesses.
It would make no sense for such an organization to stand with The Donald, but in the world of C of C, few things often make sense. It is good to see in this instance that logic and good sense won out.
