Last Friday was a dark day for many of us. I found it difficult to imagine the light we need, difficult to think of ways I might be able to see in the direction of the end of this tunnel. It was a hard day, indeed, only the comfort of my friends and loved ones (absolutely including my friends here!). Of course, I did not WATCH the coverage of the day’s planned events. I focused on my energy and well-being.
During the day I looked at my horoscope in the local paper. Usually I cannot be surprised by anything I find there, but on this day I was surprised. I saw what you see printed as title picture for the diary.
More below.

I am not very invested in anything a horoscope says. They are written broadly enough, oftentimes, to seem to coincide with elements we find in our daily lives. Sometimes they seem to lead in promising ways, if we give our inner optimism reign. I don’t think that is a bad thing.
On that score, wikipedia says this about horoscopes.
No scientific studies have shown support for the accuracy of horoscopes, and the methods used to make interpretations are pseudo-scientific.
Yes, granted! Duh, right?!
But, even with pure chance it is hard to imagine missing things worse than Horo did on that fateful day.
And then the phenomenal turnaround on Saturday! Wow!
I came to Daily Kos in 2006 because of The West Wing. Because of the unfathomably large contrast between the administration ‘in power’ at that time and the quality and luminous power of the Bartlet administration.
Yet that was as nothing compared to the contrast of today, between the Obama administration and … what we see now, what we FEEL.
I am thankful to the depth of my soul for the contrast we and our protesters provided on Saturday, of like magnitude, and for the strength and resolve provided by that worldwide event, of powerful intention and human sentience. I will never forget it. THAT was a good day. (Much, much better than good.)
On to tonight’s comments! Compiled and formatted by my special friend, brillig, another of those brilliant, passionate marchers!

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down. From gizmo59:
annieli posted a sign from the March in this comment. I didn't see it, but I wish we had; both hubby and RevKatie were knitting while marching. However, they did not run out of yarn.
From HeyMikey:
Gotta give it to Bubbanomics for this comment!
