In 2016, Donald Trump was selling his lie to coal country. Bad Obama, bad for coal.
He alone was going to bring back all those coal mining jobs. But wait...

TRUMP: “We’re going to get those miners back to work ... the miners of West Virginia and Pennsylvania, which was so great to me last week, Ohio and all over are going to start to work again, believe me. They are going to be proud again to be miners.”
The great Donald Trump grift continues. Coal country is out of luck under Trump.
Gary Cohn, Trump’s chief economic adviser, says that coal doesn't make sense anymore. Cohn says clean energy is the way to go to grow the economy and be environmentally friendly.
This is the truth, which is in very short supply in this administration.

In a striking comment given Trump’s support during the campaign for American coal miners, Cohn also said “coal doesn’t even really make that much sense anymore as a feedstock.” He singled out natural gas as “such a cleaner fuel” and also noted that the U.S. could become a “manufacturing powerhouse” by investing in wind and solar energy.

"Coal doesn't even make that much sense anymore as a feedstock," Gary Cohn said, aboard Air Force One on Thursday, referring to raw materials that get converted into a fuel.
Cohn, who serves as director of the White House National Economic Council, instead praised natural gas as "such a cleaner fuel" -- and one that America has become an "abundant producer of."
"If you think about how solar and how much wind power we've created in the United States, we can be a manufacturing powerhouse and still be environmentally friendly," Cohn said.
I doubt most of the folks who supported Trump in coal country will even care. As long as they are being spoon fed how horrible Obama was to them and how horrible Democrats are, they will side with Trump who actually lied to them.
Now the question is, when will Donald Trump backtrack on Cohn’s comments? You would think Cohn’s fealty oath to Trump was broken here, eh?
