Senator Steve Daines (R) of my home state of Montana took to Facebook to try to pin the government shutdown on Democrats. I’m about to go against my usual internet advice here, but I recommend reading the comment section.

For non-FB users:
1. Click on “not now” underneath the “Create an account” in the popup box.
2. Click on “685 comments” ← or whatever that number is up to, that link under the orig comment box.
3. Click on “view previous comments” (it will load all the previous comments).
It suggests that most commenters aren’t buying what he’s trying to sell. I’m especially pleased to see how many refutations of his crap are not just generic anti-GOP comments, but are instead quite specific and very informed about how this shutdown came to be and who is responsible for it. Folks are paying attention, and they’re not shy about calling BS on those who are spewing it. The GOP is trying very hard to spin this as not their fault, but they own this. We on the left need to make sure that everyone knows it.
