The Nai Syrian Children's Choir, a choir of Canadian children who have recently immigrated to Canada from Syria was established in 2016.
The choir was to sing at the Serenade! Choral Festival in Washington D.C. But has canceled over concerns for issues that might arise as the choir entered the US.
Other Canadian/Syrian refugees have being turned away at the US border—or detained for several days. This raised concerns in the leaders of the choir to the point that they have canceled their children’s trip.
Fei Tang, general manager of the ”Nai Kids Choir”, said the chorus of about 60 Canadian newcomers between the ages five and 15 were invited to perform at the Serenade! Choral Festival in Washington, D.C., next week. “Tang said she was thrilled by the opportunity for the children to sing alongside choirs from all over the world in the U.S. capital, but ,,,’We looked at the political climate ... and decided we probably wouldn't be able to go,"
She said with a sigh. "It's just not practical."
Some of the singers immigrated within the last few years and the fear is their Syrian travel documentation might cause issues at the US Border. (Keeping in mind they are traveling with a Canadian organization, they are children, but the group’s leaders are nonetheless, so uneasy they fear these singers might be bared or delayed at the US border.
(Anybody on Kos ever hear of a suicide mass killer Aeerab bomber child chorister? Those Aeerabs are sure diabolical fiendishkinds.)
When Orange Judas was sworn in, the corporate IQ of the US doped 30 points.
That’s children who would have been entering from our ally to the north as members of a Canadian group, who might so powerfully Muslim that their very childish presence on the US side of the border some how might threaten US safety? Sovergnity? Virginity? Trump’s small hands?
We’ll never know now, but, I mean, seriously,, What could possibly go wrong other than Muslim children making a good impression on Americans? And that possibility may be what the racist right finds the most skerriest of all.
