Welcome to the Wednesday Good News Round Up! Although it is a couple of days ago that Cadet Bone Spurs came to Utica I would like to share some of the good and positive news from the day.
And because of course…
Well that’s it for my rant. Just glad the orange one has left town. Onward….
Another local story for me, but there is a rumbling of newspapers and journalists who have had enough of the shenanigans of this administration.
Journalists are not the 'enemy of the people'
The relationship between the president and the press is contentious -- and it's meant to be. In a democracy, a free press is here to report to the public what the government is doing, to examine and question the wisdom of it, and to hold to account the elected and unelected officials who make and carry out its policies. We are the eyes and ears of the people. We are not the enemy of the people.
Government censorship is what you see in North Korea, China, Russia and Turkey, not the United States. A free press is one of the things that keeps us free. The Founding Fathers were militant believers in the power of criticism and a free press unencumbered by a boorish king. The American free press will be around much longer than President Trump. Don't fall for the president's rhetoric.

Stephen Miller's Uncle Says 'Dozens' of Family Members Hate His Guts Too
After yesterday’s devastating smackdown in Politico Magazine wherein Stephen Miller’s uncle David Glosser described his goblin nephew as a “hypocrite” whose policies “repudiate the very foundation of our family’s life in this country,” Glosser returned to rhetorically body slam his awful relative again today.
Perhaps the most satisfying moment came later in the interview, when Glosser said “dozens”—yes, DOZENS—of his family members “encouraged” him to “push forward” with the public disavowal of the Trump administration’s most Earthworm Jim-lookin’ piece of shit.
And now, because I am a sucker for ANY animal:
Police Bodycam Footage Shows Officers Racing To Evacuate Animal Shelter In Path Of Wildfire
Brave members of the Vacaville Police Department raced against the clock to evacuate the animals trapped inside the animal shelter.
A total of 67 animals were in the fire's path -- including a python.
"We had a short window to get out as many animals as we could before we knew we had to evacuate," Officer Carly Stone told ABC News.
Bless all of the First Responders!
Now some music...

Had to add one more before I call it done:
CNN projection: Vermont's Christine Hallquist becomes first transgender person nominated for governor by a major party
Christine Hallquist's bid to become the country's first transgender governor will clear a historic hurdle on Tuesday.
Hallquist will be the first transgender gubernatorial nominee for a major political party, CNN projects, a breakthrough of both substantial and symbolic importance for LGBTQ Americans, in particular the trans community, which has for so long been shut out of the highest levels of elected office.
Good News!
