Quincy Redux
On last week’s Kitchen Table I mentioned that the photos I took in Quincy hadn’t loaded to Google Photos because of no wi-fi connection, but when I got home they all loaded, so I selected a few.
This is daughter Karen and Mrs. side pocket taking off on Snake Lake. No-one else is there, and it’s totally quiet.
Composed photo of Mt. Hough Spanish Peak.
Same scene taken from my canoe in the middle of the lake, just before the wind came up and blew me over to one side. I recovered and returned to our camp site before panicking. Well, a little panicking.
Leo on his trampoline. His view of the world is often unusual.
This is the view out the kid’s front window. In the distance, about a mile, is where the amazing High Sierra Music Festival takes place every summer. Days of music and fun and who knows what else.
Back home in Sonoma County we spent several days back on the farm helping our son with mowing and burning. (I have covered here in the past how and why burning is the most efficient and environmentally sound method of removing slash). All three burns went well and safely.
As I monitored this burn I couldn’t help grooving on the view in the distance, so I took a few more photos.
Mount St. Helena in the distance, Pine on the left and Poplar on the right.
The tree leafing out to the left of our 8,000 gallon water tank is a Black Walnut, which is one of the three largest in the world, seriously. Its position is contingent upon the fate of the other two.
Outbuildings behind the house. We had quite a challenge downsizing to our small condo, considering these buildings were full of stuff.
And now for something completely different: Kossack Ian Reifowitz has a book signing in New York on June 5. So, Wednesday, June 5th at 7PM
