Haven’t had a great deal of time to write here of late, but I wanted to make sure everyone’s aware that this Saturday, May 11, is the annual National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, when your friendly postal pal will bend and stoop and groan to lift the bag you’ve filled with canned, boxed, non-perishable foods and take them to your local food pantry for you.
That’s right, you get to perform one of the noblest and most beautiful acts of humanity with dang near no effort whatsoever on your part. All you have to do is drop the chow in a bag and leave it by your mailbox on Saturday and your helpful, caring, proud union letter carriers will do the rest.
Hopefully, I’ll dash off another reminder Friday, but you won’t need it. Because you already know how great it feels to say, “The food is in the mail!”
