Such a brilliant meme! One of my all-time favorites. I can’t imagine there is any utterance McConnell would rather retract than that one. I remember it. The wikipedia link on the occurrence was very clear about the Republican hypocrisy, clearly designed to try to muzzle Elizabeth Warren’s exceedingly powerful voice.
Thirty hours remained in the hearings, and Democrats objected to Senator Warren's silencing.[7] Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon subsequently read the letter from Coretta Scott King without objection.[9] Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey pointed out that the letter was already in the 1986 Congressional Record.[9]
We tend to think of persistence as a sentient activity. But what if we find it elsewhere? Can it inspire? Can it uplift?

Kathy shared a video with me that I really enjoyed. It depicted the story of a young goat who could not stand, could not walk. Posted by The Dodo, Hopie, the goat, learned to stand and walk. The video takes 3:31 to play. I would not recommend it if I didn’t think you would find it worthwhile.
As you can imagine, the prognosis for a goat that cannot stand and walk is very poor. So her mastering this extreme challenge was a great victory, indeed. And a triumph of spirit. For one reason.
She persisted. And lived up to her hopeful name!
Here are some screenshots of the progression, for those not wishing to load and watch the video.
Thank you, Hopie. For the smiles and the welcome tears.
I am completely committed to persisting. How about you?

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down. Perfect response by Elwood Dowd to the polling data in Marissa Higgins’ Poll says that 56% of Americans don't want kids taught Arabic numerals. We have some bad news.
From FishOutofWater:
Ralphdog describes with precision how Trump’s trade wars have caused an intellectual short circuit in the minds of American farmers. From Laura Clawson’s Trump claims China trade war is all upside while his top economist admits 'both sides will pay'.
