Beto returned to Virginia this past weekend to help canvas for state legislature candidates, Josh Cole and Jess Foster
40 seats of the state Senate and 100 seats of the House Of Delegates are up for grabs on November 5, as well as other local offices. There is a good opportunity for Democrats to take control of the state legislature if voters can be motivated to turn out. If you are Virginia resident, please vote, and if you have Democratic leaning friends/family in Virginia, please encourage them to turn out.
Beto leads the pack in supporting down ballot candidates
FutureNow is an organization devoted to winning state legislatures and they have been ranking presidential candidates on their support for down ballot candidates. The Atlantic article on FutureNow
Beto continues at the top of their leaderboard ranking with 195 points. Points are assigned for boosting a state legislator through social/earned media, emailing about a state legislator, appearing with a state legislator at a public event— and bonus points on all three if outside of Iowa or New Hampshire. Even though Beto is my preferred candidate, this is a competition where I’d be thrilled to see all of our candidates shoot to the top.

Beto has visited Virginia previously to help with grassroots organizing. At the end of August, he held an event in Bland County (82.3% Trump County), fired up students at VA Tech, stumped for Dan Helmer and Chris Hurst, and helped canvas in Northern Virginia.
In Texas, HD-28 Beto helped Eliz Markowitz canvas in September—early voting is happening now! If you are in this district—VOTE!!!

There is a reason why even though Beto narrowly lost the Senate race, he had huge coattails in Texas.
