Every Democrat asked about the Suleimani assassination seems to feel the need to say “He has American blood on his hands”, “He deserved to die”, or “He was a bad man” and it is driving me nuts. It is immoral, unnecessary, and unjustified to say that.
First, it is all but certain that this was another illegal action by the Trump admin, an illegal assassination. But saying the above just gives them all the cover they need. You are going to say all that and then hide behind the fig leaf of maybe it was not such a good idea?
Second, Americans don’t need to hear this knee-jerk jinogistic nonsense anymore. The majority of us are sick and tired of our idiotic and misguided foreign policy in the mid-East. You don’t need to jump and wave the flag for the military at every turn. How will we ever move away from that policy with responses like this?
Finally, how about some honest perspective for a change. Suleimani is a monster for helping to get some bombs to Iraq to kill a few hundred of our soldiers? What does that make Bush and Cheney, or how about Petraeus? What do you think the Houthis in Yemen think of us?
Stop it already, Americans are ready to hear some wisdom when it comes to use of our military force, not an instantaneous salute every time we some in Florida hits the button on a joystick, launches a missile from a drone, and takes out a few more in the ME.
