FR: Crashing Vor
TO: Hon. Ron DeSantis, Hon. Gail Coniglio
Gov. DeSantis, Mayor Coniglio:
There are, at present, at least three persons positive for SARS-CoV-2 who’ve been placed at the Mar-a-Lago Club. That number is certain to rise in coming days as more attendees at last weekend’s event at the club are tested and those who have already been tested, such as Ms. McDaniel and the President, reveal their status.
The club, located at 1100 South Ocean Blvd. in Palm Beach, though a known intersection of infected and uninfected persons and potential vector for the virus, remains open for business.
In the interest of preserving the health of the citizens of Palm Beach, Florida and, apparently, members of the US government at the highest level, it is imperative that the Mar-a-Lago facilities be immediately closed, thoroughly inspected and disinfected, and that all recent guests at the facility, especially those at last weekend’s fundraiser, be notified publicly, so that their movements and contacts can be tracked.
Whether the shutdown can be temporary, for basic health precautions, or for the duration, as other entertainment venues are, should be determined by state and local health authorities, who are most familiar with the epidemiological circumstances on the ground, rather than federal authorities.
