There is no doubt in my mind Biden won the debate on points, substance, style, and vision. I’m not faint of heart. I’m ready to fight. Put them side by side and it’s clear to me who I’d rather follow into the dark alley we are heading for. It’s Joe.
I have been a Bernie guy for years. Right up until tonight. This deal is closed in my mind. I could give you at least a half dozen different reasons for this turn around, but they don’t matter. I’m convinced.
The only time I have previously felt this comfortable switching my allegiance was after Obama lost New Hampshire. The way he handled defeat is what caused me to get off the Edwards bus. The whole sordid business about his affair was far in the future. At the time, the probability of a candidate going straight from the senate to the white house was under 5%. The only time that had happened since the Civil War was Kennedy. 85% of the successful candidates were either governors or vice presidents. Edwards was the closest to that at the time. But Obama’s comportment changed my opinion. Hard. Biden did that tonight.
I hope we heed the words of Bernie and Joe and every other serious Democratic candidate and pull together. I also hope Joe does more than adopt Bernie’s ideas. I’d like to see Bernie with a seat at the table. I’m also hoping the VP candidate is Liz Warren. But my support is not conditional on any preconditions. I’m sold.
Se acabó. Biden Ride or Die.

Originally published as a comment, now offered as advice to the Biden Campaign. You want to beat Trump in a debate? No. Live. Audience. One on one with no theatrics to distract or an audience to hide behind and there is no doubt in my mind Biden will crush Trump like a grape.
This is a talking point that needs to be pushed hard.
If Trump tries to dodge this bullet, paint him as the coward he is.
