You have all seen a Galileo Thermometer, yes? My mother had one and it always fascinated me. When she passed, my sister took it and treasures it. Well, I may not have one like this, but I have one like this.
This is the cat version of the floating bulbs.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Mz. Picky is a very thin, old kitteh with thin fur. She gets cold and manages to stay right up on me most of the time because I do not turn on the heat if Mr. Zen is not home. I bundle up and stay as warm as I can and she uses me to keep her warm. I must admit that in this time of isolation, she is a good friend and companion. But when I turn on the heat, she turns into a heat seeking pusser! Then you can find her being a Catileo Thermometer.
She goes right to the top of her cat tree as the warmth rises. She will stay there except to come down to eat or visit the facilities. This is her cold weather routine.
In the summer, she may start at the top very early in the morning, but as the heat comes on and the temps rise, she descends, shelf by shelf, until she is flat on the floor, on her tummy, soaking up whatever cool there may be. Of course, she has the best view of the garden from her tree. She doesn’t go outside much these days. When Rubi and Ash were alive, they all spent time in the garden together but Razzle chases her and she is old now. So she sits in her tree and does the Snoopy Vulture thing, if you remember that series of the cartoon strip from a long time ago.
I started her on thyroid and IBD meds yesterday. This morning, she ate her whole tin of food, only 3 oz but..., on the first visit to the food bowl. I think her tummy feels better. We will see as time goes on.
Be safe and be well.
