Welcome to Woozle Wednesday
Woozle Wednesday is that day of the week when the PWBP pooties get some time off and the woozles take over the major diary duties for the evening. Woozles may take center stage, but an endless variety of other critters like a fuzzy rabbit or barnyard resident or elegant ostrich will make appearances from time to time. And we won’t forsake the kitties, who really do crave the limelight, even on their day off.
Social Distancing in Woozleville
NOT good social distancing. You can do better.
Well, it's official. The mayor of Woozleville, Angela Barkell, has laid out guidelines for the canine citizenry. Social distancing doesn’t come easily to the woozle contingent of PWB Peeps (that’s Pooties, Woozles, Birdeez, and Peeps for the newcomers). Pooties can handle a self-imposed isolation. Some even relish it. Most other critters fall somewhere in between; they are social but can keep their distance. Indeed, some of these critters prefer it. Some critters are loners by nature.
But not the woozles. They are affection and pack-oriented by nature. It is going to be hard on the doggie community if they have to stay home alone. No cuddles? No roughhousing? No greeting the mailman or treats from the UPS gal? No sneaking under the fence to the neighbor’s pool for a midday swim? No pug piles or mastiff mountains? What’s a good-natured sociable pooch to do?
The community pack leaders have issued some helpful PR bulletins and suggestions. Some will be found below. But before we proceed below the fold, we have to pause with a brief message from the Management with the Peeps rulz:
- Do not “Troll” the Pootie Peeps Diaries. If you don’t like animal diaries, there’s no need to tell us about it. Just go find some other diary more to your liking.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly. So, no pie fights please.
- If you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: 1) snakes and creepy crawlies (some folks have phobias). 2) Any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals, even in jest, are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- If you’re not sure about an issue...please ask. Someone is always glad to help.
- Links to the Community Needs List or other fundraising diaries are always welcome here. Just links with a short explanation, please, and not the entire fundraising request, per the management.
PWB Peeps posts two diaries a day for animal lovers: a daytime diary at 1:45 pm Eastern and a nightly open thread at 10 pm Eastern. We concoct silly stories, share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us! Be kind to one another, we’re all in this together.
LAST WEEK: Woozles Went Everywhere With Their Peeps. EVERYWHERE
This is how we used to roll...literally
The way it used to be… and will be again, so don’t worry.

THIS WEEK: Learning to Distance Ourselves (It’s Hard)
No cuddles for the time being. : (
How about an elbow bump instead?
Soon, honey. Be patient.
.
Some of the other critter citizens of Woozleville are modeling social distancing for the woozles. Some of them are natural social distancers. Others are coming up with creative strategies.
I didn’t think I would go for it, but being up a tree is surprisingly satisfying.
Netflix? Acorn? Your Public Library’s Virtual Offerings? All good. Just stay in to eat. : )
We have to suck it up and be strong.
Good social distancing. : )
.
Remember to be a patient woozle. Be accomodating. Being cooped up with extended family can sometimes be a bit stressful.

Work as a team
Be patient of your sibling’s quirks
Praise for a job well done

So, are we all ready to practice social distancing? Because practice makes perfect. Just ask the woozles.
