What fun is there in quarantine? In my Mississippi, you go outside and avoid people. Walk around, get exercise, take in the sights and live a little healthier. As a wise man (in my own mind) I took my advice and now want to share my sights with you all (within the guidelines of social distancing).
The Daily Bucket is a nature refuge.
We amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and note life’s patterns spinning around us.
We invite you to note what you are seeing around you in your own part of the world, and to share your observations in the comments below.

Apply proper spacing and pacing for a stroll down the street.
Here are a few other fliers that crossed my path.
First the big winged and then the lacy fliers were in the air.
The weather was a wonderful 70 degrees f and partly cloudy. A light breeze aided (and hindered some) of the insect flights. They all seemed occupied and didn’t mind my presence.
I didn’t just find insects on the walk. I found an interesting mushroom formation.
I also saw where a young deer had rubbed the “velvet” off his antlers (earlier in the year) on a Staghorn Sumac.
Not everything that flew was an insect. I came upon a cluster of Maple seeds. Normally the flight of a “whirl-a-gig” is seen with these. These landed with a breathless “poof”.
I thought I should look closer to find fliers (beyond the large “eye catching” things) I’ve already shown. I did find a tiny flier enjoying a Dandelion.
I made my way back to the house with the methodical pace of a tired turtle. When I stepped into the carport, I saw the lifeless body of another flier. I honor his passing with these photos.
