Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.
I’ve come to think of this post as one where you come for the music and stay for the conversation—so feel free to drop a note. The diarist gets to sleep in if she so desires and can show up long after the post is published. So you know, it's a feature, not a bug.

I liked this song for many reasons when I first heard it. The flow, rhythm, harmonies and technical difficulty of breath control attracted me to sing it often. The Spanish subtitles of this video are unexpected, I don’t remember them as a kid. But, I still like the song.
When I was much younger I heard and loved this song. My mother used to dance with me (I, at age three or four) and this would be playing. She would sing, I would keep the “do-wop-sha-wop” beat going. The fondest memories from my past are tied to music.
Mom loved the Platters and played their albums (when Dad wasn’t home). I dedicate this for my good friends in California. I worry about you.
For RiverRover and the proud folks of the Long Star State (especially you Ted Cruz).
I felt this is a good place to pause and let you think of your own music. If I took a vote, the “Ayes” would agree that music is necessary for life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I know you all will have some song with eyes or seeing or blindness, etc. to submit. Please feel free to do so (if compelled). Otherwise, stay for the conversation. You’re welcome here.
