What if George W. Bush enacted all the foreign policies you disagree with?
There's no what-if, it's already done.
But . . .
(And I think it's a big but, stay with me here . . .)
What if he also put in a minimum wage that increases every year (now approx. 9$ per hour) and put in place a minumum paid holiday entitlement of 20 days per year?
It wouldn't make up for Iraq, but you wouldn't feel quite the same as you do, perhaps.
(NB/ You probably know who I might be talking about. If you do, go with this. If you don't, go with it anyway. If I suck, you can always say so, my fellow Kossacks. More over the fold.)
I am, of course, talking about Tony Blair. This is not a man who I would consider voting for any longer, although it is probably more to do with the misbegotten
ID card scheme than the Iraq war, although that is certainly a factor.
I guess the point I'm making is that Blair started off as a fairly decent fellow, really quite analogous to your favourite Democrat candidate coming through this autumn. They might get corrupted. Don't let them. America should be the greatest country in the world, and I say that as an Englishman. Make it happen, friends. Please. Your friends from other countries will try our best, but you have the power. We hope you use it.
