Well, it's official. The Republican controlled Congress narrowly passed their poor-bashing, America-hating $39.7 billion "budget" cut today, marking exactly the one hundred zillionith time
Republicans shaft the hard-working American families that they somehow swift boat into voting them into power (amazing and infuriating).
Just in time for Christmas no less.
"We have a plan to reform the government and achieve savings," said House Budget Committee Chairman Jim Nussle, an Iowa Republican.
Fucking Liar. You just passed ANOTHER $100 billion tax CUT to the 1% of the population who need it the least. Then there's a war in two theaters (acutally three, if you count the viscious War on Christmas), huge budget deficits and special extraneous needs like Katrina aid piling up and you LIARS are asking the least fortunate in our country to take one for the team so Dick and Georgie can upgrade their Christmas gift from the Cherokee to the convertible? Sickening. I love reading how special interest Republicans spin their abuse of their constituents. I guess it's like the abused, tortured wife who never leaves. I don't know.
"Democrats criticized spending cuts to student loans, child care and other programs. Rep. John Spratt (news, bio, voting record) of South Carolina, the senior Budget Committee Democrat, complained that Republicans were negotiating last-minute deals to help medical equipment manufacturers and suppliers, while maintaining reductions in some programs for the poor."
Oh do tell! A $40 billion social and health programs cut that contains a little stocking stuffer for pharma? How could this be?
Folks, this never ends. It will keep going and going until we send these pigs packing next November. I read in earnest each "fighting Dem" featured on the homepage. We must pick up 15-16 seats minimum. We have too much to lose.
The $39.7 billion in savings would be dwarfed, however, by an estimated $14 trillion the government is expected to spend over the next five years under a Republican budget plan approved last April.
Democrats argued that the spending cuts were falling disproportionately on the poor as Republicans also were pushing through Congress tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.
Grrr. Boy are those arguments falling on deaf ears. Good job Dems by popping up like a whack-a-mole to complain and then getting beat back down. Jesus Christ, you needed less than a half dozen swinging Cons to shelve this whole thing. Do your f---ing duty and stand up for America.
