In last week's Time magazine article about Condi Rice feeling the heat ("
Is Condi the Problem?" - love the title), there is a photo captioned "Sept. 2, 2000: Rice, then Governor Bush and Paul Wolfowitz gather in Texas for a CIA briefing prior to the election"
Why would a ~candidate~, two months before the election, need to get any kind of briefing from the CIA? Wouldn't there be plenty of time during the "president-elect" period to get the winner up to speed on important intelligence issues?
Somebody please help me keep from thinking that the military-industrial (and intelligence) complex was assured of who would win the 2000 election...
