the argument is framed by a strawdog lie
the repugnicans have brilliantly laid out their defense - bush controlled the fraud by a secret computer in the white house. sound crazy? well, that's what the repug thugs stated during the debate - and delay summed it up using the same argument.
this is the first, to my knowledge, of any such allegation, but the repugs offered it up as gospel. they accuse those who object of being the looney left. the repugs say that some believe that bush is a "secret computer nerd" who controlled the vote manipulation himself from within the white house.
the interesting aspect of this "argument" is that no one has actually suggested such a thing - at least no democrat has mentioned it - until during the debates, that is!
why, then, did this become the mantra in the debate?
more beneath the fold...
simple: frame the argument to the absurd to diminish the credibility of the discussion. this is one of the most brilliant of the rovian stragegies since the swiftboat liars appeared on the election horizon.
ok. the problem is simple (or not). how do we counter this strategy and how do we avoid falling into the trap of answering the repugs ludicrous charges (including those levied at michael moore).
in this diary, the challenge i ask of everyone is to go and review each statement made on the republican side regarding this issue and publish it here. we can use this list to link which repugs are working within the powerstructure to perpetuate the rovian lies and perhaps focus on those specific members of congress in our attempts to oust them.
so, help! let's build a data base and get to work for 2006!
