In case anyone was wondering if the worst is over, it isn't. After months of business drying up, the owner of our company took the painful and necessary step to let people go. We're a relatively small group, so in terms of sheer numbers, this news won't even make a blip on the news. But for all of us, it was a painful reminder how devastating the Bush years were to this country. So when I hear people talking of Bush's legacy as "At least he kept us safe" (thanks, Peggy Noonan), it infuriates me.
Fortunately, I am still employed (although underemployed). And for that, I am grateful.
When I started writing, I thought I would have more to say. I had visions of eviscerating Bush, the spineless Democrats, Obama's capitulation for the Repubs, his seeming refusal to appoint Dean to HHS, etc.
Yet all I am left with is sheer exhaustion. And now, I have to get ready to head out for another day of blessed, glorious work.
Peace.
